A Quiet Day At The Diesel Shops
Title:  A Quiet Day At The Diesel Shops
Description:  Sad to think that this Quartet of "Barn Style" or "Draper Taper" SD60s was sold off to K&K Recycling when CN held an auction on May 29, 2017 where they sold off their entire SD60F fleet. Now one and a half years later these engines return to the MacMillan yard storage tracks where CN stored them before the sell off at the Transcona shops in Illinois. By the end of August these engines were transported to K&K’s Pickering facility where they were scrapped. Apparently, almost all if not all 66 SD60Fs that CN owned were sold to scrappers because after being in captive service between Edmonton and Toronto from 2008 to 2012, these engines were completely worn out having extremely high mileages and high occurrences of engine failures.

Description:  After waiting for a green light, CN 8103 along with 2952 head East passing over the Humber River valley where the reflection of the leading unit, CN 8103, can be seen on the Huber River Itself. This set of power is on its way to the CN MacMillan yard after arriving at the Brampton Intermodal Terminal (BIT) with a long container train. Since the BIT does not have its own locomotive facilities, all power which arrives at or is needed makes a small under 10 kilometre trip to or from the CN MacMillan yard which is an enormous mixed freight hump yard and is considered to be the largest of its kind in Canada.

Title:  In the small YDHR yard.
Description:  The York Durham Heritage Railway has just acquired some new passenger cars from the Ontario Northland Railway. So far, only two have arrived but there are another two which are on their way. As a matter of fact; I've seen these two cars standing on a storage track in the CN MacMillan yard about a month ago. I can't wait to see these cars be used to pull tourists through the spectacular scenery of this area.
